Hi, I hope you have a great adventure with Stanley the Wonder Van. We love Stanley and we hope you will too.
Getting Started
I’ve put together a little video for you, so you can familiarize yourself with Stanley.
A few extra things…
Water: The Van includes 2x 20 Litre water vessels under the sink. The back one can be fiddly to pull out, so I recommend you only use it as a backup.
Solar Electrical System: Remember that it is powered by the sun. If you run out of electricity, you will need to park yourself in direct sunlight for a little while.
Butane gas burner: We have a gas cooker under the bottom drawer. You will need to provide your own cartridges, but do feel free to use the cooker outside the van.
Outside light switch: This can be hard to find, but it’s just near the back of the van, at the bottom of the bed frame.
Volkswagen Quirks
Volkswagens are notorious for electrical quirks, and Stanley is no exception. If he’s been in some rain, you might notice the central locking clicks intermittently when you drive. This is just a bit of his personality shining through.
On the rare occasion, sometimes the central lock doesn’t work when you press the key button. If this happens, just use the manual key lock.
